Fossil River

Reflection of an old riverbed.

Location: Cinca River

Artwork: Aqua Fossil Mirrors

Metamorphosis is integrated into an old channel of the Cinca River, in one of the breakwaters that the river has been generating throughout its life.

Aqua Fossil is shown here as the last fossilized remains of the water that one day passed through its being, at the same time that reflects the surrounding environment through its mirrors fusioning the present with a dystopian fossilized future.

The Cinca River starts its journey in the Ordesa & Monte Perdido National Park, a UNESCO World Natural and Cultural Heritage Site, at the same time that it nourishes an important agricultural region of Spain: Monzón-Fraga.

The Aqua Fossil Mirrors work is made of a set of 6 pieces of Alabaster and glass, all of them carved from a single block of Alabaster.
